Wipe dust off with a dry cloth. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry away from radiators and direct sun, which is what cracks leather. A neutral colourless balm two or three times a year is all the feeding it needs; test it on the base first and expect it to look slightly darker for a day. Light scratches rub out under a finger.

Yes, and unevenly, which is the point. Full-grain leather darkens where it is handled and where light reaches it, so the handles and the front panel move first. It is not a defect and it is not covered by the guarantee, because it is the material doing what it was chosen to do.

It is cut for seven and it still lies flat in a front pocket at seven. The leather gives a little over the first weeks, which is when it starts to sit properly.
