Briefcase sizes explained: 14, 16 or 17 inches
The three briefcases share the same leather and hardware and differ by laptop size and compartments. The Compact takes a 14-inch laptop in a single compartment and weighs 1.1 kg. The Slim takes a 16-inch laptop with two compartments, one for the laptop and one for files. The Large takes a 17-inch laptop with three compartments and a trolley sleeve.
Sleeves are for people who carry the laptop in another bag or under the arm. The Classic is padded with a front pocket for the charger and comes in 14 and 16-inch. The Minimalist has no hardware, so nothing scratches the laptop, and flips over to work as a mouse pad.
Laptop sizes were measured on current MacBook Pro and ThinkPad models. If your laptop is thicker than 2 cm, take the next size up.
